We are celebrating the success of the New Combo Cargo and Insignia Grand Sport

We are celebrating a summer of awards here at Thurlow Nunn, as the Insignia Grand Sport and New Combo Cargo continue to add accolades to the ever-growing award-winning range.

The Insignia Grand Sport was crowned ‘Family Car of the Year’, and the Combo Cargo ‘Van of the Year’ at the Auto Express New Car Awards 2019. Not only that, the Combo Cargo has added to its list of awards after winning, ‘Van of the Year’, ‘Light Van of the Year’, and ‘ The Technology Award’ at the Company Van Today 2019 awards.

The Auto Express New Car Awards 2019 are renowned as a notable industry benchmark for success, and nominees face tough judging criteria with a voting panel composed of the magazine’s expert reviewers, meaning only the best cars and vans make it onto the winners’ list.

The Company Van Today Awards reward the best commercial vans in the industry, which offer a combination of great running costs, high quality, efficiency and clever features to help businesses do their jobs.

Insignia Grand Sport

Acknowledged by Auto Express for “incredible value for money”, the Insignia Grand Sport boasts a vast amount of space available to both passengers and luggage. The Insignia Grand Sport continues to attract plaudits, with 2019 being the second year in a row it has won at the Auto Express Awards. This year’s win for the Insignia Grand Sport highlights the importance of driver and passenger safety for both company car drivers and fleet managers alike, which is why the new Insignia range gets the Front Camera System, as standard. The Front Camera System incorporates features such as lane keep assist, following distance indicator, forward collision alert, low speed collision mitigation braking and active emergency braking.

Thanks to its state-of-the-art equipment, including the IntelliLink infotainment system, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone connectivity, the Insignia Grand Sport adds a premium feel to its cabin with the availability of a Bose sound system, delivering top-quality audio for greater listening pleasure. Next-generation IntelliLux LED Matrix lighting is available, delivering performance without dazzling oncoming drivers.

Combo Cargo

Off the back of being named ‘International Van of the Year 2019’ and winning a multitude of other commercial vehicle awards, the Combo Cargo’s successful run shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Equipped with a number of safety features and a comfortable interior, the judges noted what an outstanding entrant, the Combo Cargo is to the small van market.

The Combo Cargo van is based on an all-new architecture and is offered in a selection of variants, including short wheelbase, long wheelbase and crew van. In crew van body style, up to five occupants can be accommodated, while the load is safely stowed behind a partition wall. In addition, the rear bench can be folded down and the partition moved behind the front seats, if required. The Combo Cargo is also clean and cheap to run with low CO2 emissions and great fuel economy.

Operators can be sure that the vehicle is not overloaded by pressing the sensor-based overload indicator (optional). This smart function will alert the driver when the payload reaches 80 per cent of the van’s maximum capacity.It was this fantastic feature that scooped Company Van Today’s Technology Award, describing the overload sensor as ‘a wonderful new piece of technology’.

A range of innovative technologies and driver assistance systems make driving and manoeuvering easier, including the optional Rear View Camera and IntelliGrip traction control system. The new generation of infotainment system with an eight-inch colour touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto ensures outstanding on-board entertainment.
