It is important to make sure you are fully informed about the Motability Scheme before applying, so you can be sure it is the right option for you. We answer some of the most frequently asked questions on this page, and you are welcome to call our team if you need any more answers.
How long will it take for my car to be delivered?
This depends on the model you have ordered. We will let you know when you can expect your vehicle to be available when you make your application.
Can I test drive a car before deciding which model to lease?
You can test drive a car you are interested in, and we recommend one even if you won’t be the one driving, so you can see how easy it is to get in and out of the car. Speak to one of our Motability advisers about booking a test drive soon.
Can anyone else drive my Motability car?
Yes. You can add two named drivers to your lease plan to make use of your Motability car, and a third at an extra cost.
Who will arrange adaptations to my chosen car?
We will arrange any adaptations on your behalf through one of our trusted adaptation partners.
Who will pay for adaptations?
If adaptations are arranged at the start of the agreement through the Motability Managed Adaptations Programme, the cost is included in the price we quote you. Many popular modifications are fitted at no extra cost when they are arranged during the application process.

Can I get financial help as a Scheme user?
Financial help may be available in the form of a grant if you cannot afford the mobility option you need. This will need to be arranged before making your application.
Speak to a Thurlow Nunn adviser or click here for more information on financial help.
Can I access a Motability car at the same time as a powered wheelchair or scooter?
Unfortunately not, as the cost to lease your Motability car almost always use up the full mobility allowance.
Can I cancel my lease agreement?
You can only cancel your lease agreement in certain situations and if you have a valid reason. You may need to pay a fee of up to £250, and will not be eligible for a Good Condition Bonus.
